Skippered Charter

If the idea of a sailing holiday appeals to you, but you do not have enough experience, maybe chartering Vital Spark with a professional skipper is the solution. We accept bookings from couples or groups up to 6 to 8 people and welcome everybody from complete novices to old hands.

The skipper will take responsibility for the yacht, and show you how to handle her under sail and power, as well as taking you to some of the best spots around the Solent or further a field. Cruising destinations and routing decisions are made with the crew’s full involvement. You can choose to develop your sailing skills, put on sea miles or just relax and watch the world go by.
 

Destinations

Destinations depend on tide, weather, time available and the crew’s experience but the West Country, France and the Channel Islands are all possible destinations on a week’s holiday from Haslar. For more energetic groups we can offer long weekend cross channel dashes. Taking a minimum of three days, e.g. leaving Thursday night and returning Sunday, they are weather dependant and usually require a minimum of four crew.

No of berths available

Vital Spark has 4 double cabins for 8 people.  The skipper normally takes one of the aft double cabins leaving 6 berths for guests.  We also offer the service, for charters staying in The Solent, whereby Vital Spark is berthed overnight in one of the many harbours, and the skipper stays ashore or goes home for the night and returns the following morning to continue sailing.  The charterer has private use of the whole yacht for the night and, of course, all 8 berths.
